The Programme
The 20th World Petroleum Congress theme: Energy Solutions for All - Promoting Cooperation, Innovation and Investment, will focus the debate on solutions aimed at providing global access for all to reliable, affordable and sustainable energy in both the near and long term future.
To achieve these goals, producers, consumers, governments and social representatives need to work in close cooperation to develop innovative ways to find and develop new oil, gas and alternative energy resources, as well as set higher standards for wiser, more efficient and cleaner energy consumption.
The need for a long term view on the massive investments required by the energy sector, and the returns to investors that adopt such a visionary approach, will also be highlighted and debated in the Plenaries, Best Practice Keynotes, Forums, Special Sessions, Ministerial Sessions and Round Tables.

The Inaugural Session of the 20th World Petroleum Congress takes place on the morning of the first day of the Congress Monday, 5th December, 2011 under the patronage of HH Sh. Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar.
